Event
The center of circulation of a hurricane named and reported by the Data Provider intersecting one or more of the Insured Location(s). For the avoidance of doubt, a single Hurricane may cause multiple Events if the center of circulation intersects with more than one of the Insured Locations.
Event Coverage Table
The relevant category for each Insured Location is defined as the highest value of:
- a) The last measurement point before the track intersects the Insured Location
- b) Any measurement point within the Insured Location
- c) The first measurement point after the track has left the Insured Location
A measurement point is a reported 6 hourly data point of NHC with the location of the center of the TC and the corresponding information of maximum sustained wind speed. The maximum sustained wind speed is reported as integer in knots [kts].
